On the huge scans I’ve got from the Smithsonian, you can make out some notes from Stan to Steve, written before the page was inked and finished:
Next to Panel 6: STEVE: REMOVE SPIDER—CHANGE POSITION OF HAND.
Below Panel 8: STEVE: MAKE THIS A CLOSED SEDAN—NO ARMS WAVING. DON’T IMPLY WILD, RECKLESS DRIVING. S.
Stan’s hand-sketched sound effects are still visible in Panel 7. And Steve missed inking one of Peter’s cuff lines there.
