A few bits of Kirby’s border notes remain:
NEVER BEEN SEEN BY IMMORTAL OR MAN
ANOTHER SHOW OUTLANDISH
MAY BE PLACES

A page from THOR #141 by Jack Kirby and Vince Colletta.
Almost all of Kirby’s border notes remain:
THOR IS ALMOST BRAINED BY SPEED AND FORCE OF THROWN CORNICE.
HE SPOTS REPLICUS BELOW AND HURLS HIMSELF LIKE A MISSILE WITH DEADLY ACCURACY AT OPPONENT—ROCKING HIM
THOR PUTS STRENGTH BEHIND BLOW—FOR FIRST TIME REPLICUS MEETS FORCE EQUAL TO HIS. HE’S HURLED TO STREET BELOW
THOR FOLLOWS UP WITH HAMMER TO STUN AND DISARM HIS ADVERSARY
Unused Jack Kirby page featuring the Warriors Three, intended for THOR #169. That issue and the subsequent one were heavily reworked very late in the game.
Kirby’s border notes as follows:
POW—THOR’S PALS VANISH IN BLAST
AND MOMENT LATER THEY ARE IN INVADED CITY
REFUGEES ARE FLEEING IN PANIC
THE BOYS SEE EXPLOSION. FANDRAL SAYS THERE IS WHERE WE GO
THEN BALDER SAYS—LET’S DO IT, MEN—IN THE CAUSE OF MANKIND
UNAWARE OF WHAT’S GOING ON, THOR AND GALACTUS CONCENTRATE ON ASGARD—GALACTUS SENSES DANGER FOR ODIN
The cover to THOR #148 by Jack Kirby and Vince Colletta, with a bunch of reworking from John Romita. Romita redid almost the entirety of the Thor figure, and presumably oversaw statting the shots of the heroes and moving them up to make room for the bottom banner.
Border notes from production include:
VINNIE - MONDAY, PLEASE
“THE CLAWS OF THE PANTHER” “CHAOS” (These seem to be notes for some other cover)
STAT AND MOVE UP AFTER INKS
50% SOAKED FOR COLOR
A page from the Tales of the Inhumans back-up in THOR #152 by Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott.
A few Kirby border note fragments remain:
THEY SHOOT: THAT’S HIM—HE TRIED TO BUST INTO BANK!
TRITON (words obscured) FEET—RIPS UP CONDUIT COVER
PLUNGES INTO WATER
SWIMS WITH CURRENT TO SEA—HUMANS FEAR

Cover to THOR #149 by Jack Kirby and Vince Colletta.
Three production notes remain:
“WHEN FALLS A HERO”
VIN - DUE 9/5
FIX - PUT ARM IN - MOVE TO LEFT
Splash page from the Tales of Asgard story from JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #102 by Jack Kirby and Paul Reinman.
Stan Lee’s written a border note to himself at the top identifying the figures at the upper left:
3 NORNS (FATES) (LIKE MACBETH WITCHES)
Thor’s thought balloon was apparently added late in the process, and the paste-up has fallen off of the original art.
